Swabia on a Plate – Cooking Across Cultures
Once again this semester, it was time to cook together, learn together, and build cultural bridges through food!
As part of our traditional cooking event hosted by students form B. Sc. Food. Nutrition & Hygiene, incoming international students were welcomed on April 11th with a warm, self-cooked meal – thoughtfully designed and led by Hazar David and Johannes Buck. The idea behind the event: cultural exchange through shared cooking and eating experiences. The event was – as always – wonderfully supported and coordinated by Dr. Conny Bast from the International Office.
On the menu: Authentic Swabian dishes prepared together with and for our international guests:
• Flädlesuppe – Swabian pancake soup
• Maultaschen – traditional filled pasta, meat and vegetarian
• Swabian potato salad – warm, tangy, and full of flavor
• Apple cake with streusel – a sweet and crunchy finale
A fantastic experience for everyone involved – and a perfect example of how practice, international exchange, and community come together in the Food, Nutrition and Hygiene degree program.
